(Mary Ann Horton)

      The death of Mrs. Mary Ann, wife of Mr. J.P. Uptegrove, which had not been unexpected for some time, occurred Tuesday evening at their home near Burnside, this county.

      For several years she had been in bad health. Her last sickness dated back about a year, the cause of her death being consumption. Her maiden name was Horton, her father being the late Silas D. Horton, of this town. She was married to Mr. Uptegrove about thirty-five years ago. For six years their home was in this village on Beattie Avenue. Besides her husband, two children survive. Messrs. William E. and Jerome P. Uptegrove, who are now engaged extensively in the wood business in Brooklyn. She is also survived by two brothers, Smith D. Horton of Jersey City and Bodine Horton, of New York. Her age was about 52.
